AI Routing
The headline act: drop a receipt photo, a bank screenshot, or a CSV and every line routes to the right entity, category, and tax treatment. Uncertain lines wait in the Review bin; your corrections become rules.
Every entity. Every dollar. One screen. The financial command center for anyone who keeps books — one business or ten. Drop in a receipt — or just type what happened — and every line routes itself to the right entity and category, while you get on with the actual business. QuickBooks shows you what happened. Funance shows you what to do — across every company, side business, nonprofit, rental, freelance client, and personal account you track, on one screen, on your machine.
WHAT AN AI SKILL CARD IS
Your AI is clever but it does not know how you keep books. A skill card fixes that. It is one small file — save it into Claude, ChatGPT or Lundr once — and from then on your AI does this job the way a good bookkeeper would: it knows what to do, what never to do, and it shows its work.
The card you are looking at is that same file, drawn so you can read it. The top says when it wakes up. The middle says the moves it makes and the lines it will not cross. The bottom says how it was proven and what it costs. The dotted block is its fingerprint: change one letter of the file and the pattern changes, so what you see is exactly what your AI got.
Nothing about it is a card you pay with. It is closer to a recipe card for your AI — except this one is checked, scored and signed.
The situation that makes your AI reach for it.
The moves it makes, numbered, so you could do them by hand.
What it refuses. A card with no refusals is not finished.
The fingerprint of the skill file, drawn as holes.
The run someone watched, the score out of a hundred, the mark.
The human face is this card; the machine face is card.json beside SKILL.md.
The format is open and printed: THE SKILL CARD FORMAT · LSC-1, from Lund Studio.
A photo of a receipt. A screenshot of your bank app. A statement CSV with four hundred lines. Drag it onto Funance and every line finds its entity, its category, and its tax treatment — posted properly, double-entry, no typing.
Receipt photos, bank and card screenshots, exported CSVs. Several at once is fine. No format to match, no template to fill.
Date, merchant, amount, memo — pulled straight off the image or the file, on your own API key, straight from your browser.
Each line lands on the correct entity and category with its tax treatment attached. Transfers between your own accounts are recognised as transfers — never counted as income.
Confident lines post themselves. Anything ambiguous waits in the Review bin for one click — and your correction becomes a rule, so that merchant never asks again.
It gets faster every week. Funance remembers how you sorted each payee, so month two is mostly watching lines fall into place. — Nothing is uploaded to us. There is no Funance server; the file goes from your browser to your own Claude and back.
Bookkeeping isn’t hard — it’s just long. It’s the shoebox, the squinting at faded receipts, the tab-switching, the “which account was this on again.” Funance takes that part. You go do the part only you can do.
We’re not going to quote you a number of hours saved — nobody’s books look the same, and made-up statistics are how software lies. Do your own math instead: count the minutes you spent on the left column last month, and know that the right column is a drop and a glance. Five free minutes with every room is long enough to find out — and the end of the five is the one thing a demo cannot show you, which is the only reason we offer it.
Managers and directors with a department budget. Teachers and program leads tracking a grant or a classroom fund. Freelancers and sole proprietors. Shops, trades, and studios. Nonprofits, rentals, side businesses, family finances. Bookkeepers running other people’s sets. An entity here is any set of books you’re responsible for — one or twelve, the instruments are the same.
The headline act: drop a receipt photo, a bank screenshot, or a CSV and every line routes to the right entity, category, and tax treatment. Uncertain lines wait in the Review bin; your corrections become rules.
One set-aside number across all entities, at the blended rate you set, with real due-date countdowns and a payments log. No April surprises.
Months of cash left, per entity and for the whole portfolio. The number that keeps anyone up at night, always visible.
P&L, the monthly spread, general ledger, due-to/due-from, draws, vendor spend — every view a CPA actually asks for, exportable.
Inter-entity transfers classify as Loan, Distribution, or Contribution and never double-count. Built for entities from line one.
Robinhood, Schwab, and any brokerage as balance-tracked accounts. Snapshot from a screenshot. Net worth on the dashboard.
Your download includes the command center — one file. Double-click, it opens in your browser. That's the entire install.
The Funance Card is a small file that installs into your Claude's Skills — then your Claude reads receipts and routes money in any chat.
Paste your own Anthropic API key. Your books never touch our servers — we don't have any.
Not “hasn’t got around to.” Structurally cannot — because each one takes away the leverage their revenue depends on. We can offer them because we sell you a file and then leave you alone.
No account, no upload, no sync, no company holding your ledger. The file is on your computer and nowhere else — we could not look at your numbers if we wanted to.
When your edition window ends, the app opens, the reports run, the exports export — forever. Renewing buys you new quarterly editions, never continued access to your own work.
Five companies, a nonprofit, three rentals, the household — same licence, same screen, consolidated or one at a time. No counter, no seats, no upgrade prompt.
Funance runs on your own Claude key. You set the spend, you own the relationship, and no feature sits behind a higher tier because the intelligence was never ours to ration.
Funance is built on the Divinity Rule — Lund Studio’s design methodology, governed by φ = 1.618. Nothing on this screen is a round number chosen by eye. Type sizes climb the golden ratio. Every margin, gap, and click target is a Fibonacci step — 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89. The mark itself is the golden rectangle subdividing into its own spiral.
Here’s the honest part: proportion doesn’t make your numbers more accurate. Arithmetic is arithmetic. What it does is make an instrument you can sit inside for three hours at quarter-close without your eyes burning or your attention sliding — the same reason a well-proportioned room feels calm and a badly proportioned one doesn’t. Competitors add features. We proportion the thing you have to look at.
Every accounting product on the market — the old suite and the new AI bookkeepers alike — is a cloud subscription that holds your books, bills per company or per seat, and ends when you stop paying. Funance is built the other way round, and every difference below follows from that one choice.
| THE QUESTION | FUNANCE | CLOUD SUBSCRIPTION ACCOUNTING |
|---|---|---|
| Where do my books live? | On your machine, in one file. Nowhere else. | On their servers, under their terms. |
| What happens when I stop paying? | Nothing stops. The app opens, reports run, exports export — at the edition you hold. | Access ends. Shut-off is the enforcement. |
| Five companies, a nonprofit, three rentals? | One licence, one screen, unlimited entities. | One subscription per company file — QuickBooks Online’s own docs, not ours. |
| Extra people? | No per-seat fee. | Per-user billing is how the price ladder climbs. |
| Do you need my bank login? | Never. Files in, files out. | Yes — a feed needs your credentials on a server. |
| Whose AI is it? | Yours: your own Claude, your key, a skill card that seats in any agent on the open standard. | Theirs — rented, gated by plan tier. |
| Can I see what the software is? | Yes. It is one file you can open. | No. It is a service. |
| Can I leave with everything? | Always. Export is a right, not a feature. | Varies by product and plan. |
Automatic bank feeds. A human bookkeeper bundled into the fee. Phone apps for capture on the go. Payroll and invoicing built in. Thirty years of brand. If you need those bundled, buy them there.
Anyone who keeps more than one set of books — founders with a side business, freelancers with clients, landlords, families with a nonprofit and a household — and anyone who would rather own the ledger than rent a login to it.
Anyone who needs bank feeds, payroll, or a bookkeeper included. Funance does the books; it does not do those, and it says so here rather than in a footnote.
Because the books are yours, the price is one number, the AI is your own, nothing ever switches off, and you can open the file and see exactly what you bought.
Comparisons describe the subscription model as a category; QuickBooks Online’s per-company-file billing is stated in Intuit’s own documentation. QuickBooks is a trademark of Intuit Inc.; no affiliation.
Not a video, not screenshots — the real Funance running in your browser with sample numbers in it. Click through the dashboard, the ledger, the reports, the tax binder. Flip the theme. Export a spreadsheet if you want one. Nothing is saved, nothing is sent anywhere, and you don’t give us an email to look.
Open the live demoTake the whole app for five minutes: drop a real file, walk every room — Invoices & Bills, Portfolio, Scenarios, Tax, the Monthly Pack, the Desk, Connections — and watch the term end. Every line you entered stays.
No card on file, nothing auto-renews. Five minutes is five minutes from the moment the key is issued; take another whenever you like. No per-entity fee on any tier.
If somebody upstairs asks where the money went — a boss, a board, a principal, a grant officer, a bank, a CPA — this is the two-click answer. Every number comes out as a spreadsheet you can open in Excel, Numbers, or Google Sheets, or a printed statement you can hand across a table. No copy-paste, no “I’ll send it Monday.”
Two spreadsheets in one click: your full transaction ledger (dated, categorized, tax-treated, per entity) and a P&L summary — income, deductible, net, cash, portfolio value, burn, runway, and tax set-aside for every entity, side by side.
Schedule-C-mapped category totals with the CPA question list, exported as spreadsheets your accountant can work from directly instead of emailing you for statements.
Profit & loss by entity or consolidated, balances, and the register — filtered to any period, printed clean in daytime mode for the meeting or saved as a PDF from your browser.
Hand your Ledger to Claude and ask for the memo: “write the Q3 summary for my board,” “explain the variance to my director,” “draft the grant spend report.” The numbers are the same — the words are written for whoever’s reading.
Drop the Funance Card into Claude and talk to your books in plain English — receipts sorted, reports on request, the tax packet on demand. A free account works. Doing books weekly? Claude Pro is $20/month at the time of writing.
The app’s built-in receipt reading runs on your personal key — pay-as-you-go, you set the spend limits, and routing talks straight from your browser to Anthropic. Funance is never in the loop, because there’s no Funance server to be in it.
Funance is an independent Lund Studio product built on Claude. Claude and Anthropic are trademarks of Anthropic, PBC. ChatGPT and OpenAI are trademarks of OpenAI. QuickBooks is a trademark of Intuit Inc. Lund Studio is affiliated with none of them; no endorsement implied.
The app is one file that runs in your browser and keeps your books on your machine. The Card is the same work taught to an AI — what to ask first, what to build, what to prove, what never to claim about your money. It seats in three places.
A native skill: save it once and it stays in your account; add it to a project or hand it to Claude Code. The studio runs its own books on it; first order on record August 13, 2026.
The keeper seats in the studio’s own AI at lundr.ai and knows the ledger’s way of working.
The card files are plain Markdown. Load CARD.md as a custom GPT’s instructions and the rest as its knowledge, and the GPT works the card’s way. Said plainly: the studio hasn’t yet run the Funance Skill Card in ChatGPT itself.
The Year — the card that opens after the test — ships the Funance Skill Card as a .skill file. Saving it puts the ledger’s method into your own Claude, permanently.
The Year, when it opens, arrives by email with FUNANCE.skill inside the package.
Drop the file into a Claude chat and tap Save skill — or add it under Settings › Capabilities › Skills (Customize, in the desktop app).
It appears in your Personal skills, on by default. Add it to a project, or hand it to Claude Code. It never expires and nothing phones home.
Say what happened. Claude names the seat, asks what your books must agree with, builds the entry, and proves it — the ledger’s way, every time.
The card is an Agent Skill on the open standard, so the same folder loads unmodified in ChatGPT and Codex, Copilot, Cursor, Gemini CLI and the rest; the studio has run it in Claude, not yet in the others.
Funance never asks for a bank login, because a bank feed needs a server holding your credentials — and there is no server. Everything comes in as a file you already have, and leaves as a file you own.
Receipts — a photo or a screenshot. Bank and card statements as CSV. OFX and QFX statement downloads, imported once and only once, even if you drop the same file twice.
Manual entry, the plain way: type what happened — paid the electrician 340 from the rental account — and the line is posted to the right entity and category, double-entry.
Your ledger, your reports, your data — exportable at any time, always yours.
The ledger-line form for hand entry — date, entity, account, amount, memo — beside the typed way. And THE OPEN LEDGER: a published file format any partner app can write and Funance will read, so Stripe, Shopify, Square or your accountant’s tools plug in by file, never by password. Said plainly: declared, not built. Building for Funance? Write the studio.
ONE CARD · EVERY ROOM · FREE FOR FIVE MINUTES
The whole app, every room, on your own books, for five minutes — then the paid rooms lock the way any term ends and everything you entered stays. The card is the real thing: the face your AI reads, drawn so you can read it too. One card is on sale while the test runs; the longer cards open after it.
A term is a window: the rooms it opens close when it ends, and your books stay yours on the floor — the ledger, drop, reports and settings never lock. The five minutes are free, as many times as you like. No card on file, nothing auto-renews, no refunds because nothing is charged.
Local-first, forever. Your books live on your machine, run on your own Claude key, and never touch a Funance server — there are none. When a term ends, Funance never holds your data hostage: the Free Ledger — every line, every report, every export — works for life. The paid rooms close until your next key; nothing is ever deleted, and nothing ever auto-renews.
For the AI routing, yes — an Anthropic API key (pay-as-you-go, yours) powers the receipt reading and categorization. Everything else — entities, ledger, reports, tax math, exports — works with no key at all.
On your machine, in your browser, in a vault you can export as one file. We never see it. We couldn't sell it if we wanted to, and we don't want to.
Yes — Claude runs on Anthropic’s computers, under your account and your agreement with them. The boundary is this: Funance itself transmits nothing. The math runs in the app on your machine, and the Card is optional. What you choose to paste into your own Claude goes to your AI provider the way a file you email your accountant goes to your accountant — to someone you chose, never to us. Skip the Card entirely and nothing leaves your machine at all. Either way, there is no Funance server.
No — a term is a window, not a balance. Each key counts its days from the moment it is issued, whether you open the app or not, and a new key replaces the one you hold. Take the month on the 1st and it runs to the 31st; take the next when that one is about to end, not before. When a term ends the paid rooms close, the Free Ledger stays open with everything you entered, and the next key opens the rooms again. The Free Ledger itself has no clock at all.
There is nothing to cancel — nothing auto-renews and no card is on file. A term simply ends on its date. When it does, the paid rooms close and the Free Ledger stays open with every line you entered, every report and every export still yours, on your machine. Take another term and the rooms open again; don’t, and nothing is ever deleted.
For the solo, multi-entity founder — yes, and now it invoices too. A/R with printable invoices, bill tracking, recurring charges, and a mileage log are built in, on top of the CPA-ready reports; your CPA still does the filing. Payroll and warehouse-scale inventory/COGS stay on the big rigs.
No — and here is why, plainly. Your key is signed once and verified on your own machine; nothing phones home, so a refund could not lock the rooms — the key would keep working to its date. Rather than sell you a promise the app cannot keep, there are no refunds: the Five Minutes is the trial — every room, free, before a dollar — nothing auto-renews, and a chargeback ends the licence. Statutory rights, where your law provides them, are unaffected.
Yes, and it’s one of the best fits. Set your department, program, grant, classroom, or project up as an entity, leave the tax rate at zero, and everything else works exactly the same: money in and out, categories, month and quarter closes, spreadsheets for whoever asks, and a written summary from Claude when you need to explain the numbers rather than just list them. The tax instruments simply sit unused.
Funance is bookkeeping and estimation — not tax preparation, and it never files anything. It doesn’t carry fifty states’ rules, and deliberately so: those change every year and a stale number in your software is worse than no number. Instead you set a blended tax rate per entity (federal plus your state — your CPA gives you the figure), tag each entity with its state, and Funance does the arithmetic, the quarterly countdowns, and the Schedule-C-mapped binder your accountant files from.
Editions ship quarterly. Your year is your year — every Year license gets its next four editions from its own purchase date, so there’s nothing to prorate. When an edition ships you’ll get an email, and your original download link serves the new files.
